Tonight I'm on pins and needles. Our school has a big fundraiser each year, it's an auction and I donated two things. I'm sure you'll recognize Lyn Morton's bracelet and the earrings are from the book as well. I even copied her "pose" for the bracelet because it was so lovely. I'm dying to hear if/how much it brought in for the school. A few years ago, I made a silly, little scarf in the school colors with some fun yarn and it sold for $300 because two of my students' parents got into a bidding war because it was made by me!
This, though, I'm very pleased with. I even think I did a good job hiding the ends and such, although I don't like the earrings, I would only wear them to match the bracelet.
Latin for today: quanti constat? = How much does it cost?
very nice Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI am sure they should bring a high price.
what thread did you use?
Thank you- it's from JoAnn's and it's called Kreinik. I wish I could afford fancy stuff but to support this crazy passion, I hoard my 40% off coupons and then get what I can. Someday I'll splurge and go for HDT!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic bracelet! I am curios as to what price your lovely pieces will fetch!

oh, I use the Kreinik Blending filaments, but haven't used the thicker threads. is it a braid?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Be sure and tell us how much your jewelry raised!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the very fine braid, HL. It's not too hard to work with but it is 'scratchy' when working. It's nice enough to wear on a wrist but I wouldn't want it around my neck.
ReplyDeleteNice! I bet your beautiful work will bring in a lot for the school - it will be fun to hear how much :)
ReplyDeleteI just saw your comment on my page :) Yes it was scary about my brother, but all's well that ends well :) Your work is Lovely, I'm interested to see how much it brings! I do hope you'll update!
