Graduation presents- nuntium duocentesimum tredecimum

I've been tatting my little heart out making graduation crosses.  If you're new to this blog, I'm a middle school teacher and I figure any kiddo who remembers me at graduation and invites me to his/her party gets a cross.  I'm always surprised by how many do remember me!

This is Julie Patterson's Knots and Hearts cross.  It appears that I've modified a few of these (read- I thought I knew the pattern by heart but apparently didn't!)  More on the way, there are never too many.

But I've got my eye on Renulek's new doily.  Hmmm.  Wish I could trust myself with colors.

  4. That is a beautiful cross pattern. Having met you, I can understand why your students find you memorable... in a good way!

  5. Such lucky students you have :) I'm really trying not to start Renulek's doily until I finish last year's ... but I have been investigating my thread colors. Yikes.

  6. These are great graduation presents. Such a good idea.

Go ahead and dive in with Renulek's new doily. We can get adventurous with color together. I'm always a bit nervous about it. I've been trying to decide between 2 colors in size 30 or 3 colors in size 80. Carollyn at http://tennbrown.blogspot.com/2016/04/another-one-started.html is tatting two doilies at the same time. I'm tempted to follow her example, but another part of me says one at a time.

  7. Wonderful crosses - great pattern and lucky recipients! I don't know where you manage to find the time to do so much tatting!

I would think Middle School students are the most challenging to teach, although I can't imagine being a teacher at all - especially today! I get exhausted just thinking about it. I think you all deserve medals!

  8. The crosses are wonderful, I love the colors! How fabulous that they remember you at their graduation. It must mean they are inspired by you and your teaching.
