Happy Accident? nuntium duocentesimum quattuordecimum

I didn't mean to make this but I started on the wrong "arm" on the Julie Patterson cross.  I could have cut and tied and started a new round but I thought it kind of cute.

And I *think* I'm going to try Renulek's doily.  Here's what I've chosen.

Both are "vintage" threads from Aunt Rose-E which means they are possibly 50+ years old. How exciting. And it's that wee stuff, cleverly called "tatting crochet", yikes!  Where's the magnifying glass?

Graduation presents- nuntium duocentesimum tredecimum

I've been tatting my little heart out making graduation crosses.  If you're new to this blog, I'm a middle school teacher and I figure any kiddo who remembers me at graduation and invites me to his/her party gets a cross.  I'm always surprised by how many do remember me!

This is Julie Patterson's Knots and Hearts cross.  It appears that I've modified a few of these (read- I thought I knew the pattern by heart but apparently didn't!)  More on the way, there are never too many.

But I've got my eye on Renulek's new doily.  Hmmm.  Wish I could trust myself with colors.
