nuntium centesimum tricesimum septimum (137th post) Triumph!

I have persevered and made the Frivole's Mille Fleurs again.  AND... I'm much happier with it.   Is it the different thread?  It's still Lizbeth, still size 20 but I think the result is much better!

still motif #19

I had to do two singles to start the petal-  maybe I tat too tightly-but now they have the lovely curves I wanted!

And here's my Marilee Rocklee Carnival necklace with my dress.  I can't get it to hang correctly but I wrangled the necklace here for the photo.

I don't have a "workshop" for tatting but in the summer, here is where I love to tat in the afternoon.
My daughter is hiding by the fountain.

  1. It does often take more than one attempt to get a motif right! This looks splendid. Your necklace too.

    1. I tried it a number of times but always with the same thread. I don't really think that was the issue, but maybe. Thank you for your kind words.

  3. Your motif looks lovely, I am hoping to get a copy of the pattern as soon as I can.
    Lovely necklace,
I found her by the pool, I had to expand the photo but I found her, what a beautiful area to tat in.

    1. Thanks, Margaret. We have an interesting climate with some serious extremes but the summer, ah, the summer makes it worth it all!

  4. These fleurs are killing me, I love, love LOVE that pattern! Also, I sympathize with the tension troubles...I have a whole section devoted to them on my blog. I think your fleurs are absolutely delightful, as is your necklace! :)

  5. Typically I don't have tension trouble so this was a real "bring me down to earth" situation. I don't know if I did the right thing but I did single, single, double, double, double, double, single and that worked for me. Probably wouldn't win the state fair with it!

  9. Frivole's motif looks very tricky, but it's a great effect! You've done a great job with it! The necklace looks perfect with the dress! And what a beautiful setting in which to tat! For me to have flowers like that, I'd have to buy silk flowers! Seriously, I have silk flowers here and there in my yard. I bought several real flowers in pots, and none of them is thriving. Too hot? Too much rain? Some are perennials which I've planted in the ground, so I'm hoping they'll bloom next year.

    1. Well, I have a gardener (my husband) who is willing to water whenever needed and I'm a teacher so I have the summer off to putter around. Trust me when school starts, everything suffers! Thank you for your kind words!
