nuntium centesimum tricesimum quintum (135th post) Removable Lace "Tat"oos

There are times when I think I'm the only woman in North America who does not have a tattoo.  I suspect there are others but I haven't seen them lately.  So, I've decided to join them - MY WAY!  Hence my "invention" of removable lace "tat"oos!
I couldn't afford a foot model.

My lovely daughter's ankle with motif #18
This another of Donata Jones' patterns.  She does not have the pattern for sale but you can buy the tatting in her Etsy shop.
As a bracelet

All done in Lizbeth, size 20 - med green and Grape Splash, Victorian Red, Royal Blue (which we just call Tardis Blue)

simple hook for closure, no eye - makes them "sizeable"

my fave

"Too Christmasy" says the family
I have some black ones too and blacks pairs with colors but instead of taking pictures, I'm test-tatting!  Wahoo!

    1. Yet no one has stopped me and asked about them... (I'm doing a fair next weekend and hope to sell them) Sigh. There goes my "get rich quick" scheme.

  2. I also do not have a tattoo. Maybe we're the last two "untatted" people in the world. : 0 Love the bracelet/anklet. Very cute.

  5. I don't have any tattoos either, I at my age I won't be bothering, I like your version of a tattoo, at least you can change the colour as per whatever you are wearing and wash them in between, what could be better than a tattoo no pain.

  6. I realize I'm now an old fogey, but I have never liked tattoos and don't understand the craze. Kids who freak out over 'zits' willingly add tattoos that look worse than blemishes. Those who have them to excess look like circus freaks. Brides often regret having them and try to hide them. I don't even have pierced ears! That also was not a craze back in the 50s. I also am not thrilled that the word tatting is becoming associated with tattoos. That said, I would consider these ankle tattoos very acceptable and more in line with ankle bracelets. I truly hope you do have good sales, as they are pretty and eye-catching and will appeal to women of all ages!

    1. Well, you're exactly right! They are ankle bracelets but I thought it was a funny name. I am not charmed by tattoos either but that's just for me. As I get older, I find too many changes in my body to imagine what a tattoo might change to.

  7. That's awesome! It's kinda funny too that I just posted a tatted tattoo arm band on my blog last night. It was just a quick preview, and I'm still working on the idea. For the record, I don't have any real tattoos either.
