Itty bitty - - nuntium duocentesimum tertium

I saw these on Pinterest and just had to try one!  I wish Google translate were better but considering where we were 10 years ago, I shouldn't complain.

Yes, that's my pinkie finger.

Now what to do with it?

"The dog ate it"- nuntium undeduocesimum

Seriously.   This dog doesn't eat, gnaw, chew, scratch or anything except once in a very blue moon, she gets a hold of something metal (!)- a nail one time even.  So we don't worry.  Never a slipper or a rug or anything else.

Except last night.  We were watching a movie (Dominick and Eugene) and generally having a good time.

"Look at our silly dog."

"What's she doing?"

"Just rolling around on her back."

"Oh."

Minutes later...

"She sure is weird."

"Yep, quiet please, we're watching."

"Is she eating something?"

"No, shhhh."

"I'm sure she's eating something.  What's that on the floor?  A string?"

"It's nothing."

"I'm sure I can see something.  Stop the movie, I want to look."

I'd say it survived pretty well.  Frivole's Flowering Quatrain done in teeny tiny "Oliver Twists"-#49 Burgundy.  : )

nuntium centesimum decimum septimum (117th post) Black Magic

I've been enchanted by Mary Konior's Black Magic for a while now.  For some reason, I kept put off trying it but a couple weeks ago (pre-hand brace), I gave it a try.  I found it infuriating!  I missed the same ring over and over, distattifying possibly as much as actual tatting.

But after making one, I had to make more!  This time with my beloved Oliver Twists.
Oliver Twists, reddish orange one
 And more!

Oliver Twists, purple pinkish one.

Then I took off the brace to work on our mobile computer cart at school last Friday.  I was in a hurry and took a step backward.  I guess I'll be wearing the brace a little longer.

nuntium centesimum undecimum (111th post) comfort tat

Interesting.  Diane the LLL asked what our "comfort tat" was a while ago.  I thought mine was Victats "simple heart" but I just found out it's not!  Two weeks ago on Wednesday we found out that our niece was to be confirmed on the following Sunday (that wacky Catholic church announcing things at the last minute- no, just the parents).
My husband went to the wonderful St. Patrick's Guild for a special card and gift but somehow it didn't seem complete without a cross bookmark so I whipped up this little guy.  I think it's Mary Konior- I don't even know anymore but was just so wonderful to tat and almost comforting.  So there you go.  My comfort tat.

not #2 because I've made a zillion
Thread - Oliver Twists which Diane turned me on to.  I have no idea what the size is but I imagine it's either size 70 or marginally smaller.

Have I turned into the wacky aunt who makes you useless stuff that you have to smile and accept?  Oh well!
