I've been enchanted by Mary Konior's Black Magic for a while now. For some reason, I kept put off trying it but a couple weeks ago (pre-hand brace), I gave it a try. I found it infuriating! I missed the same ring over and over, distattifying possibly as much as actual tatting.

But after making one, I had to make more! This time with my beloved Oliver Twists.

And more!

Oliver Twists, purple pinkish one. |
Then I took off the brace to work on our mobile computer cart at school last Friday. I was in a hurry and took a step backward. I guess I'll be wearing the brace a little longer.

oh no, so sorry you re injured your wrist. Hope your healing goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteThose are very pretty bookmarks, Mary K's patterns are always interesting, some of them are complex to say the least.
I really like the color choice in the first one with the rings one color and the chains another. I think it looks striking.
The other 2 are also pretty.
Wow - they are all beautiful. I love the tails.
ReplyDeleteI've never had success tatting that pattern... I get all twisted and turned. You've done a lovely job, and Oliver Twists seems to be the perfect thread for a bookmark. Be careful with that wrist!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you injured your wrist again. Hope it's better soon. That Oliver Twist colorway is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDie Lesezeichen sehen sehr schön aus!

ReplyDeleteMichelle, your bookmarks are absolutely gorgeous! I like the different tail treatments too. How fine is Oliver Twist then? The colour mixes of both are so beautiful! I want some! :-))

ReplyDeleteAnd such fabulous colors!!! :)
That's one of my favorite bookmark patterns. Mary Koniors patterns require you to do a lot of thinking the first time through, but are sooo worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteI love the Oliver Twists purple/pinkish one so very much. What size thread did you use and what is the name or color number of it?
ReplyDeleteEspero que te pongas bien muy pronto.Tus trabajos son maravillosos.Besos.
