I'm a Minnesotan now. - nuntium duocentesimum duodequadrigesimum

I've lived in MN for 30 years now but have always considered myself a North Dakotan.  Proud to be too.

But I think on Monday, I really became a Minnesotan.  I entered the State Fair.
I covered foam board with blue satin-y fabric and then sewed it on.

Hopefully I'll find out on Thursday- the first day of the fair.  The 2nd day of school so I might be busy.

Thank you, Renulek, for an absolutely gorgeous pattern.  It was very fun and exciting to be a part of a world wide group doing this.

And now, back to school.

  9. 30 years doesn't seem so long! ;-)

We moved to the Chicago area in 1965, and I still consider myself to be from Pennsylvania, Philadelphia to be exact. I guess early habits die hard.

Your doily is gorgeous! I wish you the best in the state fair. Wouldn't it be wonderful to win with your first entry?

  12. Congratulations on your Blue Ribbon! It is very well deserved!
I was just catching up on my blog reading for the last several weeks at lunch today and matched the incredible doily I saw at the fair yesterday with this blog post :-)
I was demonstrating for the MN Lace Society yesterday and made sure that the people interested in tatting realized that you didn't work on that over a period of years---that the pattern was only published this year and you finished it all, and in time for the fair--and with such beautiful work!
