nuntium centesimum undequinquagesimum- Dreamcatchers

So, off of my "designing" kick, I finally had the nerve to try something I've been wanting to do for a year! My daughter loves Dreamcatchers and after I saw the lovely ones on Tatting Lace in Grace, I asked for help on how to make them.  Most graciously, she made a tutorial for me!
I'm so pleased with the results!
1st effort- Herbal Garden Lizbeth #20  MOTIF #25!

Blue Ice for my other daughter
Both girls said they were too big for earrings so #1 is going to be a pendant and tomorrow I'll show you what #2 asked for.

Minnesota is truly the land of extremes- very cold winters but oh, the summers!  My lovely tatting spot (the patio) is so wonderful right now and the hibiscus has gone crazy.

And in a surprise move, my wonderful husband took me to get more plants and we found jasmine for only $10.  It will never survive the winter and usually it's so outrageously expensive, I can only sniff it at the garden shop.
After he put it in the pot, it went to the patio.  I tatted both dream catchers right by it!

  3. I love your dreamcatcher earrings Michelle! I had a pair as a gift and they were "nabbed" by my daughter!! Didn't get to wear them so I've been meaning to make myself a pair ever since. Yours have turned out really great.

    1. Thank you- you should make some, they're much easier than I thought. I used your Marie Smith method of split chain to cover the ring and it went very fast.

  6. I am fascinated by Sue's dream catchers! I have all the supplies, but that's as far as I've gotten. Maybe I should get together with either you or Sue for some hands-on training!

  7. You did an awesome job on both!!! I love the colors too!!! :)
Oh, I have made them smaller using rings like the ones that Jon Yusoff uses for her tatting on rings. Younger girls prefer those. :) Here's a link to show the smaller ones next to the larger ones: http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2013/07/size-comparison-of-dream-catcher.html
