I’ve been absolutely dedicated to the physical therapy and when I did all the exercises (most days), it was over five hours of PT a day. I’m not complaining, I can use my hand and I can even tat! My stitches are not perfect or even but I figure that it will be sort of like a visual record of my progress. I can’t believe how lucky I feel to be able to do this again.
(Latin for teacher's web)- I'm no spider but I can tat a web. I started learning tatting (shuttle) and Latin the same year - MCMLXXIX.

Modern miracle - nuntium trecesimum vicesimum quartum

((((Hugs)))) Your tatting is still beautiful 💙💛💚💜
ReplyDeleteOh thank you!
DeleteWonderful! So pleased you are tatting again!
ReplyDeleteThank you, me too!
DeleteI am so pleased your hand is healed and you have started to tat again, I injured my hand back in May and it takes time to heal. your tatting is always so lovely, hope you can get back to ful use of your hand.
ReplyDeleteThe doc says I will!
DeleteOh wow, that's huge. Good for you that you worked so hard on the physio and are able to tat again.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been a slog but I’m grateful for how well it’s gone.
DeleteJobbulást!és jó kézimunkázást!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHang in there -- and be careful not to overdo the tatting!
ReplyDeleteI'm being very careful!
DeleteSo glad physio is going well. Congrats on tatting a few stitches!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you can tat again! Modern science is amazing! I'm not sure I agree with everything they introduce, but broken bones are something I truly trust them to get right. Following pt protocols certainly makes a difference. I remember how thrilled I was when the doctor told me I could tat/knit/crochet for a few minutes a day, but not to overdo it. I followed his directions to the letter, because he scared me by telling me I might not have the use of my left hand if I didn't. Fright can be a powerful motivator!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth! i'm being very careful (but super excited to be be typing this on the computer instead of dictating)!
DeleteWahoo- see you soon!
Goodness me! This was a shock to read! I'm relieved to know you are able to use your hand again! (Right or left - not that it matters!) Can you drive? Just don't overdo. The tatting looks just fine!
ReplyDeleteyou are so kind! It was quite a shock (literally too) and I was stunned to find how much time I really do tat. Fortunately it was my left hand and I am right handed although I find I am remarkably two handed. I have been surprised at how many things I really do left handed, e.g. yesterday I found out that I peel eggs with my left). As I do more things (yay) I find more and more. I’m also shocked at how weak my left hand is despite all the pt. Two days ago I couldn’t get the cap off a sharpie marker! I can drive and fortunately my car is an automatic transmission. It will be a while before I drive a manual again. Just had the second pin out on Wednesday and have been taking it easy. Tatting, maybe tomorrow. Don’t worry, I am cautious as I want to be able to use it in the future M
DeleteThanks for the update! Will be watching your progress! I can empathize because in 2002 at age 58 I broke both my wrists when trying to relive my youth by 'returning' to ice skating after a long absence.
DeleteI fortunately made a complete recovery but recently am experiencing some arthritis issues (I'm older now!) and the other day couldn't get the cap off a Sharpie marker, either!
auguri di buona salute e spero che tu guarisca in fretta ciao
ReplyDeleteVery nice post. :)

Hi Michelle, Some how I missed this post. Probably because it was at the beginning of this moving "adventure" and I don't have my computer(a desktop) with me in the hotel room.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope by now your hand is doing much better and that you are able to tat more easily!! I will pray for you! Have a wonderful day!!!
Ooops, forgot my smiley face. :) :)
DeleteMichelle!!! Oh my!!! Please stick with your PT and what a relief you are on the mend. I see this was 3 months ago. I hope you are better and able to accomplish daily activites ; )
ReplyDeleteI missed this post and I broke my hand to but couple years ago and is very annoying if you are a tatter💐 hoping for complete recovery 😊
