Edging - - nuntium duocentesimum sexagesimum quintum

Here's the edging so far:

I don't think the blue is quite that vibrant but maybe.  I don't know if I'll finish before Wednesday.

My daughter and I are making a Steampunk outfit for her to wear when she goes to art/craft fairs for her lovely steampunk wearable art.  She has a show on July 15 (I usually join her and my sister but I'll be in Italy there- poor me) which means we have to finish before Wednesday too.  We started Saturday, finally got everything cut out yesterday, there are over 25 pieces plus some are repeated for interfacing and lining.  Today we start sewing.  We're planning to stay at it until dark- the fabric is a deep brown and unfortunately at night, there just isn't enough light for me to do it.  Hopefully tomorrow we will have the outfit to show off.

ITD - nuntium duocentesimum quinquagesimum

In honor of International Tatting Day, Twin Cities Tatters got together for a bonus meeting- yay!  We had brand new tatters and others who are "more experienced" and someone who knits and weaves the most beautiful things.  And thanks to Marlene, we even had chocolate!

We had a lot of fun, somehow those two hours go by so quickly.  It's such a treat to get together with others who love the same thing.
Here's another pin I've made.  Somehow I'm not sure of it-why?  I don't know.  Something just isn't quite there for me.

My elder daughter has sold her first piece on Etsy!  She is over the moon.  I won't mention any names for fear of invasion of privacy but you wouldn't be surprised by this generous tatter's heart.  Anyway, each night she reports to me the number of views so if you have nothing else to do, would you go click on her shop? (This is a gorgeous piece that has non-functioning scissors in it.) Thank you!

Spring break over - nuntium duocentesimum undequinquagesimum

Well, Spring Break is over and I find myself chained to the dining room table working, working, working.  I've been doing school stuff for the last three days straight only taking a break to clean the oven and the bathrooms (how pathetic does that sound?).  It was a nice spring break though and I got to spend a little more time than usual with both daughters- a real treat!

Younger daughter and I went to Peoria, IL one day and came back the next.  We were doing a college visit, her first.  It was a good experience and while we're not sure it's the college for her, they were great!  900+ miles in two days was a lot though.  We managed to squeeze in some shopping which was her favorite.

Elder daughter and I went to our wonderful Institute of Arts which is a beautiful treasure in the area and free unless you want to go to the special exhibits.  We also went to a new-to-us restaurant in that neighborhood- the Copper Hen, very yummy and fun.  We also spent an afternoon in a different neighborhood poking around some local shops for repurposed things, also fun.  She has finally been able to set up her Etsy shop which if you have a moment, I encourage you to look at (or Pin her stuff if you like it).  It's called BigSisterSteampunk and features her wearable art.  I love it and people always comment on the pieces when I wear them.

Lest you think I haven't been tatting, I have!  (Just not blogging- have I said how crazy this school year has been?).  Here's something I made while younger daughter was driving.  (Now that's also a treat- I have my own chauffeur!)
