I've lived in MN for 30 years now but have always considered myself a North Dakotan. Proud to be too.
But I think on Monday, I really became a Minnesotan. I entered the State Fair.
I covered foam board with blue satin-y fabric and then sewed it on.
Hopefully I'll find out on Thursday- the first day of the fair. The 2nd day of school so I might be busy.
Thank you, Renulek, for an absolutely gorgeous pattern. It was very fun and exciting to be a part of a world wide group doing this.
And now, back to school.
Love it !!!! I'm sure Minnesota will do you proud :-)

ReplyDeleteYay! Ribbon-worthy for sure! I'm so glad you entered ;)
ReplyDelete30 years doesn't seem so long! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe moved to the Chicago area in 1965, and I still consider myself to be from Pennsylvania, Philadelphia to be exact. I guess early habits die hard.
Your doily is gorgeous! I wish you the best in the state fair. Wouldn't it be wonderful to win with your first entry?
It's a gorgeous doily and beautifully displayed! I'm sure it will do well at the fair. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWOW! beautiful tatting :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely stunning!!! I love the colors and they look wonderful on that background.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your Blue Ribbon! It is very well deserved!
ReplyDeleteI was just catching up on my blog reading for the last several weeks at lunch today and matched the incredible doily I saw at the fair yesterday with this blog post :-)
I was demonstrating for the MN Lace Society yesterday and made sure that the people interested in tatting realized that you didn't work on that over a period of years---that the pattern was only published this year and you finished it all, and in time for the fair--and with such beautiful work!
Yay !!! Congratulations, Michelle :-)))))
DeleteTotally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and nice work on displaying it, it is beautiful and keep us posted on the outcome. I give you 5 stars :)
