Red and White or Angel's fire. - nuntium duocentesimum quinquagesimum secundum

I've been working on crosses for graduation and retirement.  Our school colors are red and white so Lizbeth Angel Fire is a good one.  I do find the change abrupt and sometimes it really puts me off.

I don't know if the variegation adds or detracts.  These are all from Lene Bjørn's Tatted Bookmarks- cross-shaped.

Ice Drop - nuntium duocentesimum quadrigesimum primum

Well, Diane the Lace Lovin' Librarian has caught me in her web!  Here's my first Ice Drop.  She has a wonderful tutorial on her blog.

I think it's pretty cute but I have some ideas for improvement.  The encapsulating rings are a bit too stretched so I'll need to fix that but still it's nice.  My younger daughter said it looked like something to eat!  Ouch.

I really have been tatting and doing craft shows.

This was the first one of the year and it was crazy successful.  : )

Here's a hanky I made for a bride/colleague for her December wedding.  The edging is Joëlle's gorgeous Iris edging.  And here's me and my handsome husband ready to go to the wedding, isn't he still a great-looking guy?

Here's what I got from Ingebretsen's (local craft and meat market) who awarded me a gift certificate for my State Fair doily.

I'm so excited to have these!  I've wanted them for a long time.  If you own the cross one, I'd love to hear what your favorites are.

nuntium centesimum septimum (127th post) graduation

Another end of the year, another round of graduation crosses.  I teach middle schoolers but I do get invited to graduations each year.  It's an honor to be sure and I figure if they remember a teacher from middle school, I should go if I'm able.

Our school colors are red and white but I get tired of that so I figure it's okay to branch out.  This cross is Lene Bjorn's which I saw on pinterest.  I think it's Camilla.  I don't have the pattern so I guessed but isn't it lovely?  Does anyone know where I can get this book?

And lookie, what came in the mail!  I'm just like a little kid- I love to get mail and to get tatting surprise is so wonderful.  Anyone want to guess what generous Canadian sent this lovely stuff?  Yes, yes, our lovely Fox!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

nuntium centesimum tertium (103rd post) commissioned work

A woman my sister works with commissioned 6 crosses as gifts for her Bible study group.  Somehow I found the time to make these between Thanksgiving and December 17th.  It seems like I can tat, do school or blog- two but not three, so that's why I'm posting them now.

They are all size 20 thread because she wanted them BIG.
 I can't remember what this pattern is but I've done it a number of times and find it pleasing to make.

These last three are from Lene Bjørn, it's called Maria and I found it on Pinterest. Here is the original site.  I don't have the pattern, I just looked at the picture.  I'm not sure it's completely correct but it looks nice enough.
