Metallic snowflake - nuntium ducentesimum nonagesimum

Here's the Lizbeth Metallic Rose snowflake that I was able to complete. (See previous post for the one where I ran out of this thread.) It's a pattern by Betsy Evans.  It's very easy to do and the result is pretty nice.

I wonder if the pink snowflakes will be a hit?  The metallic thread certainly does give more body to the flakes which is very appealing.

School tomorrow, sigh.  I know that once the kids come it will be fun but I sure have enjoyed my summer!

Saturdays - nuntium duocentesimum quadrigesimum

I have been tatting- really.  And I've been reading blogs too.  But mostly I've been doing school.  This year I have a completely new textbook for French and a new edition for my 7th and 8th grade Latin books.  That means that just about every spare moment is devoted to prep work.

Here is how I face hours of preparation work.
Assam tea

Here is the tatting I've been sneaking in too.

That's Robin Perfetti's Noelle in the front, a few from an old book of snowflakes (it's upstairs) maybe the one with 24 flakes?, a few of Frivole's Le Flocon Frivole, a couple of Betsy Evan's snowflake, a Frivole Bentley, a Jane Eborall Teeny Tiny, a small pile of Elizabeth Zipay's Elizabeth's Snowflake, a pile of Decoromana's  small snowflake(I can't find her Etsy shop anymore) and a pile of one I saw on pinterest with no attribution (and no pattern).

nuntium centesimum tredecimum (113th post)

Peacock heart - from Birgit's tatting
This is not a new motif to me, I tried it last year but with a different variegated thread so it didn't work too well.  With Grape Splash whose changes are less dramatic, I like it!
I'm pleased with this!

Vicki Clarke's ruffled heart motif #3
I won't make this one again!  Nothing wrong with the pattern but I found the ruffles frustrating and twisty and too much torment for me to enjoy tatting. (Sorry Vicki- it really is a nice one!)

Betsy Evan's heart
I liked this one.  Almost done with hearts now.

Latin for today:  cor meum tene = Take my heart.
