Before it comes out tomorrow, I wanted to show that I have this round done!
Monday was French day, we wore French t-shirts, berets, the kids tried to speak French all day (between classes), we had a trivia contest and we had fancy cheeses, pâté and crêpes in class. Here's the entrance into my classroom.
College daughter and I went in on Sunday evening and spent two hours decorating the doorway and also the halls. We put up about 500 postcards along the halls.
And we had Exploratory Learning Day and we taught 8 kids to tat. College daughter came along to help and she was amazing. The kids were thrilled to get the flip and they were so excited, they continued through lunch! We're having tatting after school, I'll be interested to see if any of the new ones show up.
Looks so pretty and you're keeping up the pace. Hooray for some new tatters, thumbs up! The French Day sounds like fun (hard work behind the scenes, of course).
ReplyDeleteIsn't school fun? When Madame Guertin taught French at the high school, she would always have a French day. It was great fun, but I had no idea what the kids were saying to me! Have fun tatting with the kids after school!
ReplyDeleteI love your doily!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you have 8 new tatters!!! :)
I think children pick up tatting much better than adults, but nevertheless all praise to you for giving up your time to teach them.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the doily too, they are such fun to make.
Congratulations on the progress of your lovely doily!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! It would have been something to hear all that French spoken in the halls :-) You put so much work into the decorations and all, wow! It's great that you have so many that are tatting! Woo hoo!
Your doily is beautiful! French day would have me totally baffled. Except for the cheese. I would love to try all those fancy cheeses :) Kudos to you for inspiring those new tatters!
ReplyDeleteNice tatting and great decorating love fun events!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have a French day, there's so much to France and giving the chance for your students to learn about another country.
ReplyDeleteNext month my husband and I are travelling though France, he's never been to France so he should have come to school with you and learned a bit, ha ha
New tatters look forward to hearing more about how they are getting on
