"The dog ate it"- nuntium undeduocesimum

Seriously.   This dog doesn't eat, gnaw, chew, scratch or anything except once in a very blue moon, she gets a hold of something metal (!)- a nail one time even.  So we don't worry.  Never a slipper or a rug or anything else.

Except last night.  We were watching a movie (Dominick and Eugene) and generally having a good time.

"Look at our silly dog."

"What's she doing?"

"Just rolling around on her back."

"Oh."

Minutes later...

"She sure is weird."

"Yep, quiet please, we're watching."

"Is she eating something?"

"No, shhhh."

"I'm sure she's eating something.  What's that on the floor?  A string?"

"It's nothing."

"I'm sure I can see something.  Stop the movie, I want to look."

I'd say it survived pretty well.  Frivole's Flowering Quatrain done in teeny tiny "Oliver Twists"-#49 Burgundy.  : )

  1. Oh my goodness! Where did she find it? So glad you took the time to see what she was doing. I'm imagining you running all over the house trying to find it one day.
But I don't know what the circumstances would have been had she actually swallowed it. Kind of scary! All' s well that ends well! Beautiful bookmark and thread, by the way!

    1. Yes, I think we were lucky although it's really little when wet. It was on a tv tray and slid off with some books and we didn't see it on the rug. She did though.

  3. Everyone loves a beautiful work of art ! Some design it, some make it, some watch it, some well try to taste it (probably thought it was a gourmet bone) ;-D

  4. They have their moments, I am sure she loved it so much she just wanted to try it, we had a dog that loved blue wool, so much so we gave up knitting blue wool for years, even when she was blind she still seem to know it was blue wool, no fooling her if it was blue it was hers, no matter if it had needles attached they were ripped off and the ball went.

  5. Beautiful! The dog was only 'washing it with love' :-) Glad you stopped her before it went any farther.
